The key to developing good self-esteem is to turn your inner voice from a critical and negative voice to a positive and encouraging voice. It all comes down to one thing and that is that you must decide to put the work in in order to re-frame the way that you think about yourself.  

Why Is Good Self Esteem Important? 

Self-esteem is so important because it heavily influences people’s decisions and choices. It serves as a motivational function by making it more or less likely that people will take care of themselves and explore their full potential. Those with higher self-esteem are generally more motivated and take care of themselves. They also tend to persistently strive towards the fulfilment of personal goals and aspirations. On the contrary, those with lower self-esteem generally do not regard themselves as worthy of happy outcomes or capable of achieving anything. Therefore, they tend to allow important things to slide and to be less resilient and persistent in regards to overcoming adversity. Generally, they may have the same kinds of goals as those with higher self-esteem, however, they are generally less motivated to pursue them.
